Journey Student ministry is known as StreCo, a combination of STRENGTH and COURAGE.
1 Corinthian’s 16:13-14 tells us, “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” As followers of Jesus, we are here to encourage you and others in a relationship with Him.
StreCo exists to call students into their primary identity as ones who are deeply loved by God, inviting them to live a Spirit-empowered lifestyle of holiness and wholehearted love for God. We aim to gather and connect students to live a life of prayer in the power of the Spirit and to walk in lifelong partnership with God and His purposes for their life.
Come and see for yourself.
NEW COVID UPDATE concerning JF Student Ministry (January 2021)
We are doing everything we can to make sure that your student is safe during this pandemic. 2021 will be an outstanding year for your student to get engaged. We will remain diligence in keeping a safe and sanitized atmosphere each day of the week. Also, we are planning a host of events that your students can be involved in both on-site and off-site, please visit one of our social media pages for info. We will continue our small groups for all student grades and genders during our Wednesday night service, allowing a discipleship engagement for the students and leaders. As always we require masks for any person in the Student Center as well as social distancing when in large group. Please stay tuned to our social media for all updates and info and/or contact Pastor Sonny with any questions.
If you are a student in need of prayer, please email Pastor Sonny at the address on the bottom of this page.
DNOW21 is coming. Mark your calendars for February 19-20 for this annual student discipleship event. Due to the current pandemic we are altering the schedule but still plan on hosting an exciting event that will allow each student to experience a fun weekend and remain safe. There will be no over-night stays this year and we ask parents to be mindful of our schedule. Strict safety policies will be in effect for any person attending. We will require masks while in social gatherings and will not have any over-night stays.
We are excited to bring in this year’s speaker, Johnny D. Johnny D has been a part of the San Antonio youth movement for years and continues to fullfil his calling as a nitrous-filled disciple maker of Christ. With a no-frills, straight forward approach to the gospel, we are looking forward to him joining us.
Your student will have a packed weekend starting off Friday evening, February 19. Our doors will open at 6PM allowing the students to come in and hang out with other students, live DJ and local student ministry partners. The night will kick off with fun engagements followed by an energized, throne-kneeling time of worship. Johnny D will bring the nights message of “SERVING” to our students and we will end it with a celebration. Your student will venture home after the nights event, but they will not be home for long. The next morning, we will meet up at a location in Schertz Texas to spend time with our community. Serving, loving and sharing the hope of Jesus. So, if your student loves spending time in a teen-rich, Jesus loving, lightning capturing, God chasing atmosphere…WE WANT THEM HERE!
This event is open to all 7th-12th grade students. Registration is now open at our www.myjf.church.com location. You can get there through the student or calendar section or by clicking HERE.
StreCo student ministry wants to do something special for all of our students and parents, which is why this year for DNOW, we are lowering the cost to only $50. We really want our students to experience this event and we want them to be with us. ALSO, and here is the best part. Any student that signs up for DNOW will get a $50 credit for summer camp. Yes, summer camp will soon be presented to the group and will be at Camp Eagle this year, June 18-22. We will send out details and registration info very soon.
We look forward to seeing your student with us for these exciting events,
Please contact our student pastor with any questions.
