Worship Director

Fulltime

Job Summary

Serves as a spiritual leader, culture builder, and shepherd for the worship ministries of the church. Oversees all worship expressions across weekend services, student ministry worship, prayer gatherings, and special church events while developing teams spiritually, musically, and missionally. Requires a heart for discipleship, strong leadership and organizational skills, musical excellence, and a passion for raising up future worship leaders and teams.
Responsibilities and Duties
Worship Leadership
Lead and oversee all aspects of worship for weekend services and major church gatherings including song selection, scheduling, service flow, and creative elements.  

Meet with Lead Pastor and Leadership Team weekly to plan, review and evaluate worship experiences.

Serve as primary worship leader 2-3 times per month.

Lead and support worship teams for prayer gatherings, worship nights, other ministry events, and special events throughout the year.

Create worship environments that are spiritually engaging, biblically grounded, and aligned with the vision and direction of the church.

Serve as point-of-contact for Worship and Production needs at Journey Fellowship including worship center, student center, coffee house, and children’s assembly areas.

Develop, resource and oversee Worship Arts and Production Arts ministries including calendar and budget input preparation and coordination.
 
Team Development & Discipleship
Recruit, train, mentor, and develop worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, and creative team members.

Create opportunities for emerging leaders to gain experience leading rehearsals and planning worship sets.

Own the worship strategy and development for all church ministries and gatherings

Oversees Executive Producer’s responsibilities and provides technological assistance when needed (audio console, media playlist, lighting, etc.).

Design visual elements needed for weekend services and special gatherings to incorporate the theme of the sermon series to include images, set pieces, and stage décor.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.  Ministry training (preferred).

Three (3) years worship ministry experience in a medium-to-large-church setting including two (2) years of experience in production and/or leading volunteer teams.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Knowledge to play and lead from acoustic and/or keys.
- Experience leading and developing volunteer teams
- Knowledge of Subsplash (or similar service organizational system)  
- Working knowledge of ProPresenter, audio systems, lighting systems, and worship technology.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail. 
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to build healthy relationships with staff, volunteers, and church members.
- Ability to lead both creatively and administratively.

Journey Fellowship Staff Expectations

Admin Communications Coordinator

Part Time - 29 hours

Job Summary

Execute the administrative elements of the church office, church events, church classes and care, church groups and communications. Provide support of Journey Fellowship Ministry Plan initiatives through design and publication of weekend bulletins, social media, web site, App, and email publications. Develop, design, organize, implement, and analyze the activities associated with all external and internal communications.
Responsibilities and Duties
Administration
Receive office visitors, phone calls, and general emails.

Follow up communication with visitors, new members, and new volunteers.

Provide administration events and registrations to support Adult Ministries (Men’s, Women’s, Marriage) and churchwide events.

Attend team, organizational, and design planning meetings and events as required.

Capture and dispatch care needs such as newborn children, hospital visits, deaths, and other situations/crises needing a response to appropriate elders, staff, or ministries.

Employ strong project management skills and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, consistently delivering high-quality results.

Manage miscellaneous office tasks as required.
 
Communication
Direct, manage, troubleshoot, maintain and support the church management platform (Subsplash) to manage digital operations and engage the congregation, including check-in links for ministries and training the Journey Fellowship staff.

Design, layout, and print content for Journey Fellowship weekend bulletin, handouts, sermon outline notes, online platforms, and additional primary ministry content as needed.  

Coordinate and edit visual elements, to include photography and videography needs.

Create new website and app pages, review and maintain current ministry web pages, and troubleshoot mobile applications through drag-and-drop web builder (Subsplash).  

Post regularly on the church’s Facebook, Instagram, and other social media resources.

Maintain online communication services such as Mail Chimp, Gloo, and other services.

Ensure all primary church communication and logo use adheres to the style guide.

Assist lay leaders in promotion for seasonal events and Grow classes.

Support and equip Community Group lay leaders through seasonal planning and selection of subject matter that is relevant to members.

Minimum Qualifications
Two (2) year degree from an accredited college or university in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Communications, Public Relations, Administration or related field.  

Preferred Two (2) years of experience in graphic design, social media, production, Communications industry or related field.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Knowledge of design principles.
- Knowledge of social media.  
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
- Knowledge of Adobe software such as Adobe CS | Illustrator, Photoshop, and ProPresenter.
- Knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary.
- Knowledge of advertising, media, and communications standards for non-profit organizations.
- Ability to write, compose, edit, and proofread literary material.
- Ability to use computer and associated software applications.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with ministry staff and volunteers.
- Ability to execute and deliver projects at a high-quality level, on time, under pressure, with diplomacy and a great attitude.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Occasional lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.

Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions.

Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
